Melinde

We are now having lunch in the large city of Melide (pop. 8000).  It is the county seat.  They are famous for their octopus, but the restaurant had something similar to a steak, so I lunged at it.

Today's walk is long, but easy.  The weather is very mild, no sign of rain and the temp is about 65.  Mostly, we are going downhill.  I have no signs of blisters.

Last night I lightened the pack a bit and the hotel did my laundry.  It was a very nice hotel for 45 Euros.  Duran just cannot share a room with me because of my snoring but there were no free rooms in the hotel.  He found another hotel instead.

On the whole, we are doing pretty well.  I think the biggest problem is soreness in the shoulders, but I can shift the weight of the pack from the shoulders to the hips and back again.  Its working, but we are not setting any speed records.

We have about 3 or 4 more hours of walking today...more later.
